Anthropic Launches Claude Duet: What a Proactive Agent Means for Your Lead Forms (2026)
Claude Duet is Anthropic's new proactive agent. What it does, who can try it, and how your scored form leads become its follow-ups.

Claude Duet is a new app from Anthropic where Claude works as a proactive agent. On October 21, 2026, Anthropic opened a research preview of Claude Duet. Instead of waiting for your prompt, it watches your connected apps and tells you what needs attention.
For sales teams, one detail stands out. Duet can draft follow-up emails from the contact and deal history in HubSpot. So the quality of your follow-ups now depends on the quality of the data in your CRM. And for inbound leads, that data starts with a form.
What Anthropic announced
Here is what Anthropic's announcement says, and nothing more:
- Access: a research preview with a waitlist. It starts with Pro and Max subscribers in the US.
- Where it runs: a standalone app on iOS and Android, and on claude.ai.
- Model: it is built around Claude Opus 5.5.
- Morning brief: each morning it sends you the key items from your connected apps. Then it checks those apps every few hours and messages you only when something needs you.
- Connectors: it can use over 6,000 connectors and plugins from the Claude Marketplace.
- Approval first: it reads, drafts and prepares work on its own. However, it shows you the action and waits for your OK before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything.
In addition, Duet runs in the background on its own virtual machine. Your laptop or phone does not need to stay on.
Why Claude Duet matters for lead follow-up
Most teams do not lose leads at the form. They lose them in the days after, when nobody writes back. Duet targets exactly that gap. For example, Anthropic lists drafting follow-ups from HubSpot deal history as one of its jobs.
However, an agent can only follow up well on what it can read. If a contact record in HubSpot holds just a name and an email, the draft will be generic. If it holds the lead's answers and a score, the draft can open with their real problem.
That is why the form matters more now. The form is where a lead tells you their budget, timeline and use case. If those answers reach your CRM, a proactive agent has something useful to work with.
Where dForms fits (and where it does not)
dForms is the form builder for AI agents. Your agent builds the form through the API or the dForms MCP, publishes it, and scores every answer. Then dForms can sync the lead to HubSpot or send it to a webhook.
To be clear, Duet does not read dForms directly, and dForms is not a Duet integration. The path is simple:
- A lead fills in your dForms form.
- dForms scores the answers and syncs the contact to HubSpot.
- Duet reads HubSpot, like any connected app, and drafts the follow-up for you to approve.
As a result, the scored leads from your form become the follow-ups Duet brings you each morning. If you are new to scoring, start with our guide on how to qualify a sales lead. Then see how an AI SDR lead qualification form feeds that score.
Try it with dForms
You do not need Duet to set up the first half today. First, connect HubSpot in dForms. Next, connect dForms to Claude with the MCP at mcp.dforms.ai, or give your agent an API key. Then paste this prompt:
Build a lead qualification form in dForms for our B2B sales team.
Ask for name, work email, company, team size, monthly budget,
timeline to buy, and the main problem they want to solve.
Score each answer: higher points for budget over $1,000 a month,
a timeline under 30 days, and a team of 10 or more.
Send every response to HubSpot with the answers and the total score.
Leave the form in draft so I can review it before you publish.
Your agent builds the form. You review it, and you publish when it looks right. From then on, every lead lands in HubSpot with its answers and score. Later, when your Duet invite arrives, those records are ready for it to read.

Frequently asked questions
Who can use Claude Duet today?
Claude Duet is in research preview through a waitlist, starting with US Pro and Max subscribers. According to Anthropic, it is included in those plans and shares the same usage limits as the rest of Claude.
Does Claude Duet connect to dForms?
No, not directly. dForms syncs scored leads to HubSpot, and Duet can read HubSpot to draft follow-ups. So HubSpot is the bridge between the two.
Will Claude Duet send follow-up emails on its own?
No. Anthropic says Duet drafts and prepares work by itself. However, it asks for your approval before it sends a message, makes a payment, signs a document or deletes anything.
